Graphics

Will Hill’s software is powered by Cryptologic and features the standard simple interface favoured by that network. There are no avatars, so the table looks a little monotonous but that said, a lot of players like the simplicity of the design.

Playability

Table
Cryptologic software is extremely reliable, but is perhaps slightly wanting in terms of functionality. In particular the gameplay/chat window is very frustrating, with a continuous scroll that makes it impossible to look back at previous actions or comments. However a thorough hand history is available in a separate window meaning you can at least check back over how a previous hand panned out.

Lobby
William Hill’s lobby is clearly laid out with useful information like players per flop percentages and average pot size for each table.

Player Numbers

Ring
William Hill pools its players with all other sites on the Cryptologic network such as InterPoker and Betfair, which means there are always loads of games, even now they are no longer accepting US players. Real-money ring game player numbers often peak at over 2500.

Tournament
Tournaments attract even more players on William Hill, with over 5000 real-money players active during peak times.

Game Variety

Cryptologic’s game is no better or worse than other poker sites, with Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud and Heads-Up (in Hold’em). All games are available in Euros, Pounds and Dollars.

Rake

William Hill’s is the industry standard (5 percent on any pot over £5/$5/€5) up to a max of £3/$3/€3. Just bear in mind that this means the rake is highest on pound sterling tables, with the £3 maximum rake equivalent to $5.2.

Special Tournaments

William Hill’s runs World Series of Poker qualifiers as well as plenty of guaranteed pot tournaments and freerolls.

Promotions / Bonuses

Sign-up
William Hill has no sign-up bonus but does offer a loyalty bonus of £25 ($46) a month, every month, and to earn it you only need to play 5 hours of real money poker per month.

Loyalty
See above. For low limit players this is a very profitable promo.
