Graphics

Victor Chandler’s graphics are excellent: slick colours, a clean table design and some nice features. For example VC offers you a choice of hundreds of symbols to choose your avatar from and the graphics for the poker chips are sumptuous – the best on the web.

Playability

Table
VC Poker has excellent software with all the usual extras like hand history, play statistics, and player notes. There are also other nice features, such as the fact that your most recently folded cards are shown in the bottom corner of the window – meaning when you have one of those Alzheimer moments and think you would have flopped the nuts you don’t have to scrabble through the hand history. Another clever idea is that the chat box / dealer summary window is displayed on a separate bar, which you can move or close. The support on VC is just exceptional. Press the “call manager” button on the top right corner of the table and you will quickly be connected to a live support manager who will help you as you play. First rate.

Lobby
The lobby is ok with all games listed on separate tabs but although you can see the average pot size for each table you cannot get information about players per flop and hands per hour, something VC really ought to change.

Player Numbers

Ring
Victor Chandler benefits from being part of the Tribeca network, and although BetOnSports is no longer a member Doyle’s Room has vowed to remain open and consequently player numbers remain high. Real money cash game traffic peaks at around 2000.

Tournament
VC’s tournament traffic is even more impressive, with over 16,000 players logged in at peak times.

Game Variety

Texas Hold’em, Omaha High, Omaha High/Low, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Badugi. The selection has improved since they added Seven Card stud but the traffic is concentrated on Hold’em. Badugi is surprisingly popular though, and you can usually find games at all levels.

Rake

VC’s rake is the industry average 5 percent. On low limit tables there is a $1 cap on the rake and on higher tables the cap is $3.

Special Tournaments

There are quite a few Action Points freerolls at VC as well as daily guaranteed pot tournaments, and a few, but not a lot, of qualifiers to live events.

100 percent deposit bonus up to $100. To get it you must earn 12,500 ‘Action Points’ within two months, which you accumulate by in raked hands. On Victor Chandler action points are very quickly accumulated.

Unique to this Site?

Although VC is a great site for all types of player with lots of middle and high stakes games its many micro-limit games make it a fabulous site for poker beginners. Victor Chandler also stands out for its exceptional support service, which allows players to chat live to a support manager completely free of charge.

About VC Poker

Victor Chandler, formed in 1946 in the UK, is an international gaming group that has been based in Gibraltar since 1999. Originally a sports betting company Victor Chandler has branched out to embrace the Internet revolution, and its online operations have proved a great success.

Victor Chandler moved its operations from London to Gibraltar in 1999 and in so doing became the first big-name bookmaker to offer its customers tax free betting (previously UK customers had to pay a 9% gambling tax). The move not only revolutionised UK gambling, but also the daily life of most Gibraltar residents. Since VC arrived property prices in Gibraltar have risen by 25% and the company is thought to be responsible for almost a quarter of the Island’s GDP.

Also part of the Tribeca network are Doyles Room, Blue Square Poker, Paddy Power Poker and many others.
