Graphics

Cryptologic graphics are not the best. The tables tend to be fairly monotonous and the lack of avatars makes each seat indistinguishable. The problem with Littlewoods is they have decided to go with exceptionally brash and loud colours and have added other graphics, like drinks tables, that only serve to further clutter.

Playability

Table
Cryptologic’s software is ok but could be improved. The main problem is the game play / chat window, which has a major design flaw that makes it virtually impossible to read back over previous comments. On the upside hand history is viewed via a separate window and is fully comprehensive.

Lobby
Littlewoods’ lobby is clearly laid out and displays all the information you’d expect such as players per flop and average pot size alongside each table.

Player Numbers

Ring
Littlewoods shares its player base with other Cryptologic sites like Betfair and InterPoker, meaning there are always lots of games at every level. It is particularly good for high stakes games. Cash game traffic peaks at around 2500 real-money players.

Tournament
Tournament traffic is higher still, peaking at around 5000.

Game Variety

Texas Hold’em. Omaha Hi. Omaha Hi/Lo. 7 Card Stud and Heads-Up Hold’em games. All games are available in all three currencies.

Rake

The rake on Littlewoods is the industry average of 5 percent on any pot over £5/$5/€5 up to a max of £3/$3/€3. Just bear in mind that as £3 is worth $5.2 the maximum rake is actually higher on pound sterling tables than on dollar tables.

Special Tournaments

Littlewoods hosts regular guaranteed pot tournaments, including a 50k guaranteed tournament every Sunday. This year Littlewoods ran regular qualifiers to the 2007 WSOP.

About Littlewoods Poker

Littlewoods began life in 1923 as the Littlewoods Football Pools. Drawing on the popularity of the pools, Littlewoods expanded and built up its operations to become one of the largest gambling companies in the UK.

Then in September 2000 the Littlewoods gambling operation was bought by Sportech PLC for £161 million, maintaining the Littlewoods name.

In August 2002 Littlewoods launched its online casino and the following year, in November, Littlewoods moved into the runaway online poker market with the launch of Littlewoods Poker.

Littlewoods is one of the UK’s best known brand names with trusted operations in sports betting, Bingo, online games, online casinos, online poker and of course, lest we forget, the football pools.

Sportech Plc. is fully listed on the London Stock Exchange.
